Celebrate Good Times - Come ON!

Today I celebrate.  Many things, in fact!

First off it is my anniversary of 23 years of being married to my stallion.  He is my best friend, and I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful man.

Secondly, I celebrate having survived the chaos of a graduating senior.  Our party went of quite smoothly.  We had a bit of stress for about an hour as we found out that every outlet in our garage was wired to the same breaker.  So.... each time we plugged in and turned on a roaster, we lost power.  People are coming and would like hot food - YIKES!!  My sweetie got it all figured out (with the help of some extension cords), and all was well.  We got to see friends and family that we hadn't seen in a long time.  It truly was a celebration of accomplishments and joy.

I celebrate the fact that my eldest has survived having his wisdom teeth removed.  That happened on Tuesday.  Pain meds are helping, and the swelling is going down.  The miracles of modern medicine!  I'm not so excited that I have to go have one of my own teeth removed.  (long story involving eating healthy - which resulted in a cracked tooth - darn cherry pits! - chocolate is safer!!)

May is one of my favorite months - the hope of spring, the adrenaline rush of the kids' excitement of summer.  The beauty that surrounds us - all of it adds up to one big warm fuzzy for me.  More reasons to celebrate!

I celebrate that I have friends in my life who truly listen to and support me.  They step in when I need help, and they stand in the gap when I need prayers.  What a blessing to have people like that in my world.

I suppose if I wanted to get all philosophical I could find ways and reasons to celebrate the problems that I have in my life, too.  (there are plenty!)  But, today I'll just keep focusing on the good stuff.  That little adage about "what if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday" keeps running in my mind.  What are you celebrating in your world?
